Taylor Thornton

The 2012 Lacrosse Honda Sports Award winner as national player of the year and the 2011 IWLCA National Defender of the Year, Taylor Thornton was the second four-time All-American in NU women’s lacrosse history.
Thornton started all 90 games Northwestern played in her career, winning second-team all-conference and third-team All-America honors in her rookie campaign. She went on to become a first-team all-conference and All-America selection in each of her final three seasons, including picking up the American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Year award in 2012.
At the time of her graduation, the talented midfielder ranked second in NU history in ground balls, third in caused turnovers and tied for sixth in career draw controls.
She was a finalist for the 2012 Tewaaraton Award and a 2013 nominee for the honor.
