Northwestern Teams With Tykes for Annual Social Media Night

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's men's basketball team is hosting its annual Social Media Night game Wednesday, Jan. 17 when the Wildcats host Ohio State at Allstate Arena in Rosemont.
This year, the program is teaming up with Tykes to create caricatures of the team, head coach Chris Collins and Willie the Wildcat as well as a number of prominent NU alums.
Based out of Charlotte, N.C., Tykes is a graphic design company that creates customized cartoon character or avatars of celebrities and athletes.
"It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Northwestern," said Tykes president Jason Woullard. "Especially at a time where the excitement has reached a new level with what Coach Collins has brought to this program. The goal of our company is to partner with schools who not only achieve excellence on the playing field but also those who are looking to expand their brand to attract a new audience. Northwestern fits right into our vision."
Fans will see the Tykes used on the team's social media channels leading up to and during Northwestern's game against the Buckeyes as well as in venue. Northwestern students attending Wednesday's game will receive a free t-shirt featuring the team.
Five lucky Northwestern students who attend the contest will win the opportunity to have a Tyke created in their own likeness.
In the days leading up to the game, followers of @NUMensBball on Twitter will have chance to retweet posts for the chance to win some great giveaways.
Fans who attend Wednesday's game can tweet their seat location for the chance to win terrific prizes courtesy of Northwestern Athletics and the men's basketball program.
