Northwestern Draws Syracuse in 2017 Big Ten/ACC Challenge

EVANSTON, Ill. – The Big Ten and Atlantic Coast conferences announced Wednesday that Northwestern will travel to Syracuse as part of the 11th annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Wildcats and Orange will play Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017.
Tip time will be announced at a later date.
Northwestern and Syracuse have met one time before, a 74-52 Wildcat win on Nov. 30, 1990, at the Stanford Cardinal Classic in Palo Alto, California.
The Wildcats are coming off a 20-win season, their second in the past three years. Northwestern is bringing in the top recruiting class in the Big Ten and the 17th-ranked class in the country with three espnW top-100 players.
Syracuse posted a 22-11 record last season, advancing to the Round of 32 at the 2017 NCAA Tournament. The Orange are just two seasons removed from a Final Four run.
Syracuse went 13-1 at the Carrier Dome in 2016-17.
Northwestern is 5-5 all-time in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Chicago's Big Ten Team has won its last three contests in the Challenge and five of its last six dating back to 2011.
The Big Ten will seek its first Challenge win since the competition began in 2007. The ACC has won seven times, while there have been three ties, including two in the past three years.
