Northwestern Finalizes 2018 Football Schedule

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern will welcome the University of Notre Dame to Ryan Field in 2018 for the first time in 40 years, highlighting a home slate that also includes Big Ten opponents Michigan, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Illinois.
The Wildcats will open the season with a Big Ten Conference game for the first time since 1984, kicking off the campaign at Purdue, before returning home for three straight tilts. Northwestern welcomes non-conference foes Duke and Akron to Ryan Field, before hosting the Michigan Wolverines in the Big Ten home opener on September 29.
Two weeks later, the Nebraska Cornhuskers will visit the Wildcats on October 13, with the Wisconsin Badgers coming to Ryan Field on October 27.
On November 3, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish make their first visit to Ryan Field since 1976. Northwestern has won each of the last two meetings between the programs, including a thrilling 43-40 overtime victory at Notre Dame Stadium in 2014.
The Wildcats wrap up the regular season slate in Evanston against the University of Illinois in the annual battle for the Land of Lincoln Trophy. Northwestern has taken the last two matchups in the series, and four of the last five.
Season tickets for the 2018 home campaign will go on sale in January with 2017 season ticket holders having the guaranteed right to purchase.
Northwestern kicks off the 2017 season on September 2 against Nevada and will host five Big Ten home games for the first time in school history. Season tickets can be purchased by visiting NUSports.com or calling 888-GO-PURPLE.
