EVANSTON, Ill. — After playing 23 consecutive games in the state of Illinois, Northwestern baseball leaves the Land of Lincoln for a three-game series (April 21-23) at Penn State.
This weekend's action will get underway on Friday, April 21, at 5:30 p.m. CT, followed by a 5 p.m. start time on Saturday, April 22, before the team's meet at noon CT on Sunday to finish the set.

Northwestern (14-22, 3-6 B1G) will use the same starting rotation for the second straight weekend. Senior Cooper Wetherbee (1-1, 2.67 ERA) will make his fourth start and 14th appearance of the season on Friday night, before head coach Spencer Allen hands the ball to freshmen Hank Christie (2-4, 6.12 ERA) and Matt Gannon (0-2, 4.94 ERA) on the weekend.
Penn State (12-24, 1-8 B1G) enters the weekend on a four-game losing streak. The Nittany Lions were swept by Maryland (April 14-16) last weekend and dropped a 9-1 decision to Pittsburgh on Tuesday, April 18.
As a team, Penn State is batting .226 this season, which ranks last in the Big Ten. Jordan Bowersox leads the club with a .333 clip on 41 hits and a boasts team-best marks in RBI (18), slugging percentage (.480), on base percentage (.418) and steals (9).
Northwestern was swept by Penn State at Miller Park last season. The Wildcats last win over the Nittany Lions came on April 10, 2011.
