McIntosh Named to USBWA All-District V Team

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern junior guard Bryant McIntosh has been selected to the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District V team.
District V encompasses the states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
A native of Greensburg, Indiana, McIntosh was named a consensus second-team All-BIg Ten selection earlier this week. He leads Northwestern and ranks ninth in the Big Ten with an average of 14.6 points per game while pacing the league with 5.4 assists per contest.
In the Wildcats' regular-season finale against Purdue last Sunday, McIntosh became Northwestern's career assists leader. He enters play this week with 531 assists, the most of any non-senior in the nation. McIntosh has been particularly effective down the stretch as he's averaging 18.3 points and 5.5 assists per game over the last 13 contests dating back to Jan. 15.
He has 10 20-point games to his credit this season, including eight in Big Ten play. One of the top free throw shooters in the league, McIntosh ranks second in the Big Ten as he has connected on 86.5 percent of his attempts from the charity stripe this season.
He has helped guide Northwestern to a school-record 21 wins so far this season as well as 10 victories in Big Ten play, Northwestern's most since 1932-33.
The Wildcats are the No. 6 seed for this week's Big Ten tournament and open play at approximately 8 p.m. Central time Thursday against the winner of Wednesday's matchup between Ohio State and Rutgers.
