Rohde Paces Wildcats With Hot-Shooting Three-Point Performance

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Senior guard Lydia Rohde scored a game-high 19 points, but Northwestern could not overcome Missouri State's 15 three-pointers in the final non-conference road game of the season.
Rohde was lights out from downtown, knocking down five threes and shooting seven-of-nine overall from the field to pace the Wildcats. It was Rohde's best scoring performance since dropping 22 at UT-Martin on Nov. 18 and her fourth time in double figures overall.
The senior captain now ranks fifth in the Big Ten in three-point percentage, making 42 percent of her attempts from deep.
Northwestern (6-6) also received a double-digit scoring effort from junior forward Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah, who had 11 on five-of-six shooting in just 18 minutes.
Eight Wildcats got on the scoreboard overall as Northwestern shot 44 percent from the field.
That offensive output could not keep pace with a Bears team that made 58 percent of its three-point attempts and shot 52 percent overall on its home floor in a 90-59 effort.
Sophomore forward Abi Scheid dominated the glass, tying her career high with nine rebounds. Starting in place of injured point guard Jordan Hamilton, sophomore Byrdy Galernik scored nine points and dished out six assists.
Chicago's Big Ten Team returns home Tuesday, Dec. 19, when it hosts No. 21 Green Bay at 11 a.m. at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, for the team's annual Field Trip Day.
