EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern football will host the University of Nevada and Bowling Green State University at Ryan Field in September of 2017. With these two dates secured, the Wildcats 2017 schedule is now finalized and can be found below.

Northwestern will open the 2017 campaign against the Nevada Wolf Pack on September 2, and host the Bowling Green Falcons two weeks later on September 16 at Ryan Field.

Northwestern is 1-1 all-time against the Wolf Pack, with both teams successfully defending home field during a home-and-home series in 2006 and 2007. Quarterback C.J. Bacher led the Wildcats on a game-winning, 80-yard touchdown drive in the game's final 72-seconds to secure a 36-31 victory at Ryan Field on Sept. 8, 2007, in the last meeting between the two programs.

Nevada is coached by Brian Polian, entering his fourth season in 2016. Last year the Wolf Pack competed in a bowl game for the tenth time in the last 11 years, capturing the inaugural NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl with a 28-23 win over Colorado State.

The Wildcats are 0-2 all-time against Bowling Green, with the most-recent meeting coming in the 2003 Motor City Bowl at Detroit's Ford Field, a 28-24 win for the Falcons. Bowling Green, led by first-year head coach Mike Jinks, is the three-time defending MAC East Champion and captured league titles in both 2013 and 2015.

The Wildcats 2017 schedule will feature seven games at Ryan Field, five of which are Big Ten Conference tilts, and an eighth at Chicago's Soldier Field. In addition to Nevada and Bowling Green, Northwestern will welcome Penn State, Iowa, Michigan State, Purdue and Minnesota to Evanston. The road slate includes a non-conference visit to Duke and Big Ten trips to Wisconsin, Maryland and Nebraska. The Wildcats will wrap up the campaign against Illinois at the home of the Chicago Bears.

On the heels of a record 10-win campaign in 2015, the Wildcats second in the last four years, Northwestern kicks off the 2016 season on Saturday, September 3, at Ryan Field against Western Michigan. Information on season tickets can be found at NUSports.com or by calling 888-GO-PURPLE.
